"But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord's praise,
for he has been good to me."

 Don't just believe it,

LIVE LIKE IT!

We've recently been looking at the Holy spirit and the effect that he has on our lives such as salvation, support, the fruits and the gifts. We all want our lives to be full of these things but for this to happen, we have to work with him. If a child wanted to be an accountant or a doctor but didn't want to go to school or listen to the teacher and couldn't be bothered to do his homework then you would say it will never happen. If we don’t work with God by studying his word, applying it to our lives, applying our own will to doing what he says and stepping up & out to love and serve God and those round us… then guess what? Our lives will never become what God knows is possible.  “so here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: take everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you develops well-formed maturity in you”. Rom 12:12 [MSG]

How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you ignore the important things of the law - justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things. Blind guides! You strain your water so you won’t accidentally swallow a gnat; then you swallow a camel!”  Matthew 23:23-24.  [NLT]

We continue to look at the warnings that Jesus gave to the religious leaders, but before you switch off and say I'm not a religious leader, notice that Jesus says we are to do what they say and not follow their example which means that these warnings are for all of us, because we all represent Christ in the way that we live for Him.  How we live out our faith is very important and while some things may come easy to us other parts take discipline. Some areas of our lives may be in good order, but that doesn't mean we can ignore or let ourselves off with regard to other parts of our lives that are far from ok! Maybe we go to church, put money in the offering, are very precise and faithful in giving 10% of our money to God thinking we've done our bit. Or maybe we have all the time in the world to help people and do good deeds, but going to church more than once a week or giving money is a challenge?  But, it is all part of our following Jesus! The whole of our lives is to be for Him and he deserves our best in every area of our lives!  committing our will to His, relying on God's Word and His Holy Spirit and not our own strength. Let's live all out for Him, working out what this means and live out our faith! recognising what areas we need to work on. Do we need to be more generous? Do we need to spend more time with God and His people?  Do we need to be more gracious or forgiving?Whatever our challenge or struggle, it's worth pushing through!Living for His Glory! To know Him! and to make Him known!

There has never been a time where God’s Word is needed more than it is today. So many people experience desperation, helplessness, fear and hopelessness. UCB is on a mission to inspire every generation to hope in God. UCB has been entrusted with some powerful media ‘tools’ to achieve their Vision including publications like UCB “Word for Today”, UCB Radio on DAB, UCB TV, Prayer line and so much more. Thousands of people’s lives have been changed simply through reading “The Word for Today”. PLEASE ASK IF YOU NEED ONE.

Remember to pray for our brothers and sisters around the world

1. Give thanks to God for the blessing of Christian radio & TV.

2. As 1 Timothy 2 v 1-4 says, pray for our government and especially that God will guide David Cameron in his decisions.

3. Pray for God to revive His Church in our country.

4. Pray that sufficient funding will be provided for this ongoing ministry.

5. Pray that God would inspire & guide the team as they plan various programmes.

If you would like to give to Missions just put your Missions gift in an envelope marked Missions and drop it in collection any time along with your offerings. Each month, you can read a little more about Christian Mission organisations and what they do.

Do You?

Do you rule your world or does it rule you?

Can you see the light as it shines on through,

Do you live in the future or do you live in your past?

Maybe you live in the moment and you’re making it last.

Does your mind like to wonder deep into the dark,

Or have you searched within yourself and found your mark?

Do you walk around in search of a saviour?

Or do you enjoy life and all it’s flavour,

Ask yourself these questions, give it time to think,

Cause you may need to find your missing link…..
