"Write
the vision
And make
it plain on tablets,
That he
may run who reads it...
...Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because
it will surely come,
It
will not tarry".
Habakkuk
2:2-3 [NKJV]
Don't
just believe it,
LIVE
LIKE IT!
A woman meets Jesus at a well and
has her life transformed. You know the rest of the
story...
...It's found in John
4.
It all happens at the
well!
Who is the true
well?
The true source of living water
that changes our lives?
Welling up &
Overflowing in our lives and into the lives of those around us, into our town,
city and to the utmost parts of the earth.
Discussion about the resurrection - Matthew
22:23-33.
I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God
of Jacob.
So he is the God of the living, not the
dead.
Matthew 22:32.
[NLT]
What a bizarre
conversation we find in Matthew 22:23-33. The Sadducees didn't believe in
the resurrection and so they were trying to outwit Jesus with a tongue in cheek
question meant to prove how ridiculous it was to believe in the resurrection.
The law stated that if a husband died before having children, his brother was to
step in and have children for him. They made up a story of a woman who had
married seven brothers who had each in turn died without having children.
They're thinking was how stupid to believe in the resurrection because if all
eight were resurrected who's wife would she be. If we ignore the
unlikeliness of such an event, here are a group of people who were trying to
substantiate their beliefs based on a human argument. We might not come up
with such an out of the ordinary fable but we can sometimes fail to trust and
even be caused to doubt what God's word says because of complications that we
see. But God is God. Just because there are some things that we cannot
understand, does not dictate whether something God says is true or not! If
God says it you can trust it!
Jesus leads in with a
verse from the Torah which the Saducees believed that showed that God spoke of a
resurrection. He said in Exodus 3:6 that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob after they themselves had died. God is not limited by our
understanding. Therefore let us allow our understanding to be stretched by
God and his word! leading us to live in
faith!!!
Pastor Richard Wurmbrand was imprisoned for 14 years in communist
Romania in the 1950's and 1960's. He inspired the founding of Release
International in 1968 to serve persecuted Christians and to make the Church in
the West more aware of this suffering. This organisation now serves persecuted
Christians in more than 30 countries around the world by supporting pastors and
Christian prisoners, their families and working for justice. The writings of
Richard Wurmbrand give powerful testimony to the way God was at work during his
years of imprisonment and torture. More recent accounts of Christians in prison
have had similar stories. In the book of Acts Paul saw the Lord working
dramatically in various situations while in prison. Let us continue to remember
that though the Christians may be captive * the Lord isn*t, Keep on
praying.
PLEASE PRAY FOR :-
1.
That the plans of ISIS
(now
called IS - Islamic State) rebels will be thwarted.
2. For the
release of the school girls abducted by Boko Haram in
Nigeria.
3. For
Christian Asia Bibi who has been waiting for 3 years for her appeal against a
death sentence.
4. That
God will thwart plans of the extremist groups Al Shabaab in Kenya and Boko Haram
in Nigeria
5. For the
release of all Christian prisoners in Iran, many of whom are
pastors.
6. For
Iran*s President Hassan Rouhani that he will work hard to improve their nation's
record on religious liberty.
