Jesus said,
"I am the light of the world.
If you follow me, you won't have to walk in darkness,
because you will have the light that leads to
life."
John 14:6 [NIV]
Don't just
believe
it,
LIVE LIKE
IT!
I was
driving home from Glynneath one evening. As I drove along the road guided by my
headlights God in his awesomeness reminded me that He is still the light of the
world and more than that He wanted to be the light of my situation (and that of
yours). Without my headlights that road would have been a long lonely tough
journey as it would have been difficult to see. And it's the same in life when
the journey we are travelling is dark and lonely and we are finding it difficult
to see the end of the road. God lights and directs our path all the way. We
don't need to see the end of the road/journey with God guiding our every
step. (I know that is easier to say than to live out) but just like my
headlights helped me get home safely, God will guide our path
to finish the journey He is taking us on.

Jesus' parable of the two sons - Matthew
21:28-32.
*I tell you the truth, corrupt tax
collectors and prostitutes
will get into the Kingdom of God
before you do.
Matthew 21:31.
[NLT]
Hearing this phrase would catch my attention! Jesus has
just told the story of two sons who were asked to go out and work in their
Father's vineyard. The eldest son said no but then changed his mind and
did what was asked the other son said yes but didn't carry out his
word. Jesus was talking to the religious again and once again he has harsh
words for them! Why? Because their life and their actions weren't
matching their speech. They could talk the talk but they weren't walking
the walk. If you are a child of God or if you are not yet, God has a big
heart for you and your life and big plans to match. He calls us to follow
him and he commissions us to live for his purposes in our generation. By
wearing the badge Christian, we are in a sense saying "Yes God I'll live for
you" but do our lives match up?
I am committed to seeing the people of Lifewell Church raising
the bar in discipleship I want to be all that God wants me to be and I want to
do all that he wants me to do! How about you? Are you wanting to see
what God can do through you and us in this town of Morriston and to the
uttermost parts of the world? Will you back up your yes with life choices
and action that we might see God's vineyard worked for his
purpose????
As a church we have been supporting Frank & Carol for many years in
their missionary work in Spain. Their desire has been to plant churches and
place them under the leadership of Spanish people whom they have trained. In the
mother church in Castellon, where services continue at 10 and 12 on Sunday
mornings, the congregation has so increased that there is a serious lack of
space which is limiting further growth. In Spain there is a desperate financial
situation and much un- employment. Two of their most valuable workers are Carlos
and Leysis who are responsible for the youth programme and help out with the
preaching and teaching. Whether in the prison, on the radio, in the squares and
parks, through the food kitchen, ministry to the homeless or in the markets,
they endeavour to use every means to win souls to Christ.
PLEASE PRAY FOR :-
1. For
continuing health and strength for Frank & Carol, Carlos &
Leysis and all the other workers.
2. That
the Lord*s presence & power will be made manifest in a far greater measure
than ever before in the areas where they work.
3. For the
funds required to acquire much larger premises.
4.
Segorbe, a town of 10,000 people with no gospel witness where Frank & Carol
hope to plant a church for the glory of God.
If you would like to give to Missions just place your Missions gift
in an envelope marked Missions and drop it in collection any time along with
your Tithes and Offerings. Each month, you can read a little more about
Christian Mission organisations and what they do!
If you can give some time between 8am & 12Noon, it would
be very much appreciated!
We'll be teaming up with Mission Church and whoever
else is willing to help Plasmarl Primary School. If you
can give the morning or an hour or two it would be very much appreciated!
